Raslask, Joseph Henry

According to his obituary, Joseph Henry Raslask was born on 25 October 1896 in Poland and served in WW1, service unconfirmed. In later years he went by the surname of Lusk. After immigrating to Canada he found work with the Canadian Pacific Railway, retiring in 1959 as a conductor. Joseph married Vera Johnson and known children of the marriage were Eleanor, Evelyn, Eric and Allan. Sadly Eleanor died nine days after her birth in 1926. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge, Lake of the Woods Shrine Club, and the Kenora Branch of the Canadian Legion.

Joseph died on 17 April 1972 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Vera, daughter Evelyn (Frank) Parmeter of Kenora and sons Eric of Thunder Bay and Allan of Dryden. He was also survived by five grandchildren and two brothers and four sisters. Vera later died in 1996. Joseph and Vera are interred in the Lake of the Woods Cemetery in Kenora.
